The concept is not new, but it went mainstream in 2021 when Facebook announced its name change to Meta.

The idea is to create a virtual environment where people can socialize, meet and interact in the future (perhaps the very near future). Industry, however, has already shown that its usefulness can go much further.

A chemical sector company, for example, presented the first polyurethane plant in the metaverse during Latin America's largest high-performance plastics trade show (Feiplar Composites & Feipur 2022).

Using avatars and virtual reality headsets, customers and attendees "visited" the facilities of the new plant and logistics complex recently opened in Jarinu (SP).

The feat raised everyone's expectations even further and made it possible to quadruple the company's production capacity.

The technology can make many processes and methods easier: training, testing, exams, talks, remote customer service and so on. The possibilities are endless.

What do you know about the metaverse? Are you already getting ready to step into it?
